Roderick Carus, by reason of his business school qualification where he specialised in fi nance and accountancy and his employment in merchant banking, is able to bring exceptional forensic skills to cases involving false accounting, fraudulent trading etc.
He has moreover a formidable reputation as an advocate which has enabled him to forge a highly successful career in all areas of criminal work ranging from offences of a violent and sexual nature to work under the Trade Marks Act 1994 and the Copyright, Patents and Designs Act 1988.
As a result of his banking background Mr Carus is able to deal with complex balance sheets, analysis of company figures and is familiar with accounting conventions so is the ideal choice for any case involving companies and fraudulent trading.
He has prosecuted the Directors of a bank in the Isle of Man with four others for a conspiracy to defraud the shareholders of a property development company and has also dealt with money laundering and confi scation cases arising out of drug trafficking.
Mr Carus recently successfully prosecuted two Directors of Railtrack on a corporate manslaughter charge and has extensive experience of both prosecuting and defending homicide cases.
He is well known on the Northern Circuit as a leading criminal practitioner and his reputation helps him enjoy a busy practice.

Successfully defended in a high profile urban terrorist case concerning two young men who were charged with conspiracy to cause mass murder by replicating the Columbine High School Massacre in Amercia
