EMPLOYMENT PROFILE
Advocacy is undertaken in the Employment Tribunal/ High Court (including Northern Ireland) and within Disciplinary Proceedings and extends to all claims within the Tribunal jurisdiction.
Mr. Morgan’s High Court practice has particular emphasis upon those areas of litigation within which employment law and commercial law converge including director responsibilities; breach of fi duciary duties and related restitutionary claims; shareholder disputes; restrictive covenants; confi dentiality; passing off ; Pension and PHI related issues. Mediator and Arbitrator appointments are also accepted in these areas.
Extensive experience of all forms of Employment Law (contentious and non-contentious) ranging from multiple claimant actions arising out of harmonisation of terms and conditions in the Financial Services Sector and discrimination claims within public services sectors to pre-emptive advice in connection with the public sector procurement arrangements and the administration of occupational pension schemes. He contributes to professional publications, is a contributing editor for Sweet and Maxwell’s Employment Law Encyclopaedia and is a regular speaker on employment law and related fields.
Drawing upon expertise in canon law, there is a particular interest in issues of religious discrimination, the employment status of ministers of religion and related Church-State Relations. Involvement in these fields has included appointment to a working group in direct dialogue and consultation with the Department of Trade and Industry and the conduct of cases in other jurisdictions, including The Vatican.
